Mid-Century Inspired Nature

Rooted in the philosophy of modern design, Mid-Century Inspired Nature reintroduces the emotional grace that early modernism left behind. Each composition begins with the simplest of gestures: a single capital letter S, cut, deconstructed, and layered into forms that abstractly evoke flowers, birds, butterflies, and fish.

The series draws inspiration from Eva Zeisel’s reflection that modernism, in its rebellion against ornament, eliminated the expressive S curve — the line through which emotion once flowed. In response, these works restore that curve to its rightful place: as a vessel of feeling, motion, and natural rhythm.

Rendered in a warm, natural palette of blues, greens, and violets, each piece reveals the quiet harmony between structure and softness, geometry and growth. What emerges is not a literal depiction of nature, but its distilled essence; organic life interpreted through a mid-century lens.

Both modern and timeless, this collection speaks to those who appreciate the dialogue between restraint and expression; a balance of intellect and emotion, form and spirit.
